2023 Nanticoke Adventure Race

4 & 10 Hour Courses

- EVENT RESULTS -

2023 EVENT PARTICIPANT GUIDE

EVENT OVERVIEW

Back for our second year in a row, come join us for a great adventure racing experience in beautiful Trap Pond State Park in Laurel, DE, and the surrounding areas! New this year there are two course lengths to choose from: a 4-hour course for beginners and sprinters, and a 10-hour course with a lot of optional checkpoints that is still very completable for enthusiastic beginners and intermediate level racers, and yet still has enough strategic decisions and challenging optional points to interest our most advanced racers that are looking to battle it out to clear the full course and take first place! Enjoy scenic views, wildlife, and even some rare trees as you paddle, bike, and trek deep into the park and surrounding forests and wildlife areas.

Both courses will be in a rogaine format. For those new to adventure racing this means that the race is determined by who can obtain all mandatory checkpoints and the highest number of optional checkpoints within the prescribed time window for the course (4 hours or 10 hours). This is a great way to allow racers of all fitness levels to compete in the same event, since slower and newer racers can strategically choose which checkpoints to skip if they are running low on time.
